QE Engineer – Senior – Financial Services

Job Description

Tremend is looking for a Senior QE who combines strong technical skills with a leadership mindset. You’ll be hands-on in delivering quality across Web, API, and backend layers, while also helping to shape QE practices, mentor peers, and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement robust functional test strategies and frameworks using Java to ensure software quality across the organization
• Design and execute automated API test suites using Rest Assured to validate service integrations, endpoint behavior, and response accuracy
• Build and maintain UI automated test frameworks using Selenium to ensure front-end functionality, usability, and cross-browser compatibility
• Create comprehensive test plans and test cases utilizing JUnit and TestNG frameworks, ensuring broad coverage of functional and regression scenarios
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to support continuous testing and rapid release cycles
• Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into effective quality assurance processes
• Contribute to a Git-based development workflow by raising and reviewing pull requests, maintaining code quality standards within the testing codebase
• Write and maintain SQL queries to support back-end data validation and assist in verifying the correctness of application behavior at the database level
• Identify, document, and track defects and issues throughout the testing lifecycle using appropriate defect management tools
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and team meetings, providing QA input and advocating for quality to be built into the development process from the outset
• Support production incident resolution by performing root cause analysis and contributing to post-incident reviews
• Create and maintain clear documentation for testing procedures, automation frameworks, and quality metrics

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a banking or financial services environment is strongly preferred
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 3 years focused on functional and automated testing
• Strong proficiency in Java for developing and maintaining automated test frameworks
• Hands-on experience with Rest Assured for API testing and validating service layer behavior
• Hands-on experience with Selenium for building and maintaining UI automated test suites
• Demonstrated knowledge of testing frameworks such as JUnit and TestNG
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, particularly using Jenkins
• Proficiency with Git-based version control workflows, including branching strategies and pull request collaboration
• Working knowledge of SQL for back-end validation and database-level verification of application behavior
• Solid understanding of functional testing methodologies, including regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
